Proverbs 27:6 - Friends give correction
Job 6:14 - Friends give encouragement
Proverbs 27:17,19 - Friends are honest
Proverbs 17:9 - Friends are trustworthy.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12- Friends are dependable in times of troubles
THE GREATEST FRIEND OF ALL: JESUS CHRIST
He is the friend of sinners (Luke 7:34)
He gave His life for you (Romans 5:8, John 15:13)
He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrew 13:5)
He will protect you and guide you (Romans 8:31)
He wants the best life for you (John 10:10b)
WE ARE FRIENDS OF GOD THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS
James 2:23 - And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, "Abraham believed God, and it was imputed to him for righteousness, and he was called the friend of God."
John 15:5 - No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master does. But I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from
my Father I have made known to you.
We were reconciled with God through Jesus (Romans 5:1-12)
James 4:4 - Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever desires to be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
1John 2:15-17 - Do not love the world, nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him, because all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passes away, and the lust of it, but he who does the will of God abides forever.
